What's Happening - EE Cruz Promotes Two Executives
Joseph F. Malandro will be President and will retain his Chief Operating Officer title. Malandro has been with the company for 22 years.
Malandro graduated in 1970 from New Jersey Institute of Technology, B.S.C.E. He began his career as a design engineer working for Elson T. Killam Associates, Millburn, NJ. He joined EE Cruz as a Project Manager in 1985 on the reconstruction of six major bridges on Route 287 in New Jersey. Since, Malandro has managed major projects in both New Jersey and New York including bridge, roadway and micro-tunneling projects. Malandro was promoted to Vice President in 1997. He managed the construction of the Air Train Tunnel at JFK Airport and the foundation and slurry wall construction for New Jersey's tallest building in Jersey City before being promoted to COO in 2002.
Malandro is a Licensed Professional Engineer in New York and New Jersey. He is Treasurer of the Moles and a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Deep Foundations Institute.
Charles J. Montalbano was promoted to Senior Vice President, overseeing projects in New York and New Jersey. He has been with the company for 21 years. Montalbano graduated in 1984 from Rutgers University, College of Engineering, B.S.C.E. and completed his MBA at NYU in 2004. Early in his career, Montalbano worked for the Army Corp of Engineers for the New York region. At EE Cruz, he started as a Project Superintendent and in 1989 was promoted to Project Manager. In this position, he managed large-scale infrastructure projects including the complete reconstruction of 25 blocks of Columbus Avenue in Manhattan and the $250 million NYC DEP Flushing Bay CSO. He is currently responsible for the company's $137 million expansion of the Rahway Valley Sewage Treatment Facility in New Jersey.
Montalbano is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York and a member of the Moles, the American Concrete Institute and the Deep Foundations Institute.
