What's Happening - EE Cruz Names New Executives
E.E. Cruz & Company, Inc. announces the appointment of three executives
Bennett Klausner will be Vice President - Finance and will retain his Secretary title. Klausner has been with the company for 24 years.
Klausner graduated in 1960 from Rutgers, AB. He began his career in construction as Treasurer-Controller at Sovereign Construction Company. He joined EE Cruz as Chief Financial Officer in 1985. Since, Klausner has managed all financial matters and the company's accounting staff in its Holmdel headquarters.
Klausner is a CPA in the state of New York. He is a Member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
David Casey was named Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all aspects of finance at the company. He began his career in public accounting at Touche Ross & Company after graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He quickly developed a specialty serving construction clients and went on to become the Partner in charge of the national construction practice of Touche Ross which later merged to become Deloitte and Touche. In 1996, he founded Casey, Townsend and Killian, a public accounting firm that exclusively served construction clients and, in 2006, he and his partners merged with Wiss and Company to form the construction services division of that firm.
Casey is a CPA and Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional. He was the founder and first President of the Construction Financial Management Association and is a member of the Moles.
Jeffrey R. Cruz, Esq. will be General Counsel. Cruz received his B.A. from Georgetown University in 1986, and his J.D. from Fordham University Law School in 1989. He began his law career, which has focused exclusively on construction law, as an associate at Postner & Rubin and became a partner in 1996, before joining Thelen Reid & Priest in 2006. He spent a year and a half at Bear Stearns & Co. as an in-house construction and real estate counsel before joining E.E. Cruz in October 2008.
Cruz is an active member of the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry, was a co-author of the New York Construction Law Manual, has served as an adjunct professor at the Pratt Institute School of Architecture, and is a frequent speaker and writer on construction law topics. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
