What's Happening - Monmouth County Concours d' Elegance at Hop Brook Farm

Automobile aficionados from the tri state area and beyond will once again gather in Holmdel, New Jersey for a special charity event this Fall.

The Monmouth County Concours d' Elegance offers a rare display of classic automobiles ranging in years from 1900 to 1969.  All proceeds raised benefit Embrace Kids Foundation, a 501 (c) (3), non profit entity helping families with children coping with cancer, sickle cell disease and blood disorders.

Picturesque Hop Brook Farm in Holmdel, with its neatly planted colorful rows of fresh produce, will again provide a perfect backdrop for a display of over 150 pristine antique automobiles.

Jeff Cruz of Rumson heads up a dedicated committee of local businessmen and car enthusiasts who have been hard at work since last year’s event planning what promises to be an even grander Monmouth County Concours in 2009.  He credits the dedication of his Board - Carl Zellers, Ryan Finnen, Dan Danielson, Jen Basile, Ray Weber, Mike Gull, Manny Konstantinidis and John Van Ness - as a major factor in the continued success of this event.

Automobiles shown at the Monmouth County Concours d’ Elegance at Hop Brook Farm are accepted by invitation only, and Cruz notes increased competition this year for a limited number of spaces.

"Aside from the overwhelming number of applications received, the shear quality of automobiles put forth for consideration in this year's Concours has been astounding" he says. Accepted vehicles are judged on elegance, style and overall beauty.

With applications for admission to the Monmouth County Concours far exceeding available spots, an overflow waitlist has been established.  Applications continue to pour in despite a posted end of July deadline.  As Cruz points out, "Owners of fine automobiles take great pride in showing their cars to others, especially like minded enthusiasts.  Couple that passion for cars with a beautiful farm and the ability to help a worthwhile charity, and the result is a truly unique event".

Admission to the Monmouth County Concours d' Elegance is free and parking is provided courtesy of Vonage.  Mark your calendars now and join the celebration on Saturday September 26, 2009 from 10 am to 4 pm at Hop Brook Farm, 953 Holmdel Road in Holmdel.  To make a donation or for more information, visit www.monmouthcountyconcours.com or www.embracekids.org.  To speak with a Concours representative call 732 946 3630.
