E.E. Cruz/Tully, JV secured the $324.6 million MTA contract for the fit-out of the main station, entrances, and ancillary structures for the 96th Street Station.
This is the 8th of 10 contracts in Phase I of the Second Avenue Subway expansion. The scope of this project includes the rehabilitation and retrofit of the existing 99th-105th Street tunnel, the construction of invert slab and benches in the new 87th-92nd street tunnels, and the supply and installation of major mechanical systems. This contract will also include glazed storefronts and canopies, permits and traffic maintenance, and the restoration of sidewalks, pavement, curbs, signage, striping, and landscaping along 9 blocks of Second Avenue and the adjacent side streets. Once this contract and the recently awarded rail contract are completed the 96th Street Station will be fully operational and ready for strap-hangers on the new Second Avenue Subway.
